Environmentally Friendly Renormalization Group and Phase Transitions
We discuss an environmentally friendly renormalization group approach to analyze phase transitions. We intend to apply this method to the Electroweak Phase Transition. This work is in progress. We present some previously obtained results concerning a λφ 4 theory, where the main features of this algorithm are introduced.
متن کاملNJL - model ∗
The Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model is supplemented by the quark interaction generated by the one-gluon exchange. The employed gluon propagator exhibits the correct large momentum behavior of QCD, whereas the Landau-pole at low energies is screened. The emerging constituent quark model is one-loop renormalizable and interpolates between the phenomenologically successful Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model at low...
متن کاملThermal phase transition in the NJL model of QCD
Massless QCD with two flavors undergoes a chiral symmetry restoration transition which is believed to be of second order. According to arguments by Pisarski and Wilczek [ 1] the universality class of the transition is that of the dimensionally reduced 3d O(4) Heisenberg spin model. The reasoning behind their conjecture is that quantum fluctuations become irrelevant near the critical temperature...
متن کاملPhase diagram of the three-dimensional NJL model
With the exception of confinement the three-dimensional Nambu−Jona-Lasinio (NJL3) model incorporates many of the essential properties of QCD. We discuss the critical properties of the model at nonzero temperature T and/or nonzero chemical potential μ. We show that the universality class of the thermal transition is that of the d = 2 classical spin model with the same symmetry. We provide eviden...
